Greenhouse conditions: why billionaires are investing in growing vegetables

Profitability of greenhouse vegetables production in the “high season” of winter-spring last year, as estimated by the Ministry of Agriculture, was at the level of 14.3% (excluding loan servicing costs).
The agricultural producers are exempt from income and property tax.

In 2015, the subsidy program was adopted – the state is ready to reimburse up to 20% of the costs for the construction of the facility (in case of Rukin’s greenhouses it is 960 million rubles). “Rukin is one of the first ones who took advantage of government support measures and actually received subsidies”, – says Glushkov from the Union of vegetable producers.
The greenhouse projects, being a non-core business, as a rule, starts with cucumbers – that is a quickie.
